Glide

Bid-based ride-hailing for the UK. Real competition. Transparent pricing.

Launching on the App Store · 2026

The story

01

Problem

Ride-hailing in the UK is a closed duopoly with no price discovery.

Uber and Bolt set surge prices algorithmically — riders have no power to negotiate, and drivers compete on nothing. There is no mechanism for market-clearing prices or genuine competition. Glide introduces a bid model: drivers compete for trips, riders get transparency.

02

What we built

A bid-based marketplace for rides, built end to end.

iOS app for riders and drivers, real-time bidding engine, dynamic matching algorithm, and a compliance framework for the UK private hire market. Built from scratch — product architecture, design, and development. Day-to-day running has been handed to my co-founder while I focus on AI engineering.

03

Outcome

In build. Launching 2026.

The marketing site is live at theglideapp.com. Pre-launch metrics, App Store performance, driver onboarding, and ride data will be documented here. Come back.
